Trial of metro-bombing plot postponed

Shubra al-Kheima Criminal Court on Thursday postponed to 18 March trial of 38 Muslim Brotherhood supporters charged with attempting to bomb two metro stations in Shubra al-Kheima during the 6 October War celebrations of last year.
They are also charged with shooting at police and residents of the neighborhood, possession of unlicensed firearms, ammunition and explosive materials, and resisting the authorities.
The court is convening at the Police Institute as its original premises lie in the middle of a residential area that is difficult to secure.
Investigators say the leaders of the Brotherhood summoned the defendants from Dakahliya, Sharqiya, Beni Suef, Giza and South Sinai to bomb the metro stations.
