US President Donald Trump posted a picture of the Strait of Hormuz, on his page on Truth Social on Sunday, with the phrase “New U.S. territory: Strait of Hormuz” written on it.

The heads of Iran’s three branches of government met at the presidential palace hours after Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian called on Friday for an end to the war.
The Fars News Agency reported that Pezeshkian hosted the meeting, which was attended by the Speaker of Parliament, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, and the head of the judiciary, Gholam Hossein Mohseni Ejei.
Qalibaf said on Saturday that Iran had received “numerous messages” from neighboring countries regarding the formulation of new regional security arrangements and economic cooperation.
Earlier on Friday, the Iranian president said that Tehran must end the war now, asserting that his country was “in a position of strength,” according to the local ISNA news agency.
