Trump vows victory as US launches major strikes on Iran

US President Donald Trump announced that American forces have commenced “major combat operations” against Iran, described as a “massive and ongoing” campaign.

He stated the operation aims to dismantle Iran’s missile and military capabilities, prevent Tehran from acquiring nuclear weapons, and eliminate “imminent threats” posed by the Iranian regime.

In a video shared on his Truth Social platform, Trump indicated that the operation could span several days and noted that casualties are expected.

Simultaneously, the Israeli Ministry of Defense confirmed it launched a “preemptive strike” on Iran, targeting dozens of military sites—including ballistic missile factories and nuclear facilities—in full coordination with the US.

Key quotes from Trump’s statement:

  • “Our goal is to defend the American people by eliminating threats from the Iranian regime.”
  • “Iran poses a threat to our forces, interests, and bases across the Middle East.”
  • “America has taken every possible step to minimize risks to our personnel in the region.”
  • “Iran must never be allowed to possess a nuclear weapon.”
  • “We will dismantle Iran’s missile program.”
  • “We will be impacted by our attacks on Iran; this is a natural consequence of war.”
  • “Our military power is the strongest in the world, and we will prevail.”
  • “We will neutralize their naval fleet and ensure Iran does not acquire nuclear arms.”
  • “Iran is developing long-range missiles that threaten America and other nations.”

War on Iran

Early on Saturday morning, the US and Israel launched a large-scale joint military offensive against Iran.

The assault follows weeks of escalating tensions, American military threats, and a significant buildup of forces across the Middle East.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that the offensive aims to “eliminate the existential threat” posed by Iran, calling on the Iranian people to seize the opportunity to overthrow the regime.

This operation marks the second major confrontation in recent months, following the 12-day war in June 2025—a conflict where Israel, with US support, struck Iranian nuclear and military sites.

At that time, Tehran retaliated by launching missiles and drones at Israel and a US base in Doha.

The latest strikes occurred just hours after President Trump expressed dissatisfaction with the progress of nuclear negotiations mediated by Oman, with reports indicating a total collapse of the diplomatic track.

The Pentagon has designated the American campaign “Operation Epic Fury.”

In a direct response, Iran launched multiple salvos of missiles toward Israel, announcing the commencement of “Operation True Promise IV.”

Explosions have since been reported in several Iranian cities, including Tehran, Qom, Isfahan, and Kermanshah.
