Two-day full closure on Giza’s Kamal Amer Axis

The Giza Traffic Department announced a temporary two-day total closure along a key stretch of the Lt. Gen. Kamal Amer Axis, in order to accommodate the installation of steel girders for a new pedestrian bridge.

According to an official Ministry of Interior statement issued Thursday, the closure affects the southbound lanes heading toward al-Moneib, specifically in front of the Bashtil Railway Station.

The shutdown will take effect from one am on Friday, November 6, through nine pm on Saturday, November 7.

Detour and traffic rerouting details

To minimize disruption, traffic authorities have established designated detours for motorists traveling from the Ring Road (Western Arc) toward al-Moneib:

Rerouting route

Drivers will be directed right onto the side surface road of the Kamal Amer Axis via a newly created opening in the side barriers.

Bypass distance

Vehicles will travel along this detour for 150 meters before turning left through another side opening to merge back onto the main corridor past the construction zone.
