Two Egyptians stabbed by locals in Jordan

Two Egyptians were stabbed by five Jordanians early Saturday in the Jordanian capital, Egypt’s embassy in Amman said, marking another episode among several recent incidents involving Egyptian expatriates in Arab countries.

Ambassador Khaled Tharwat told Al-Masry Al-Youm that Jordanian police arrested one of the suspects and is still searching for the rest. He did not clarify the reason for the fight, which ended with the assault, adding that one of the victims was in serious condition in the hospital.

The incident comes days after an Egyptian was run over and killed by a Kuwaiti driver minutes after engaging in a brawl that involved other Egyptians and Kuwaitis.

An Egyptian restaurant waiter in Amman was also been assaulted and humiliated by a Jordanian MP after a heated argument, but the pair later reconciled.
