
Saudi Arabia’s General Authority of Civil Aviation on Sunday announced that the toll from the attack targeting King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh had risen to 12 casualties and 309 injuries.
The victims were of various nationalities, the authority noted, while assessments of material damage remain ongoing.
In a follow-up statement regarding the attack—which took place on Saturday afternoon—the authority reported that the incident resulted in the deaths of 12 people, including four Saudi citizens and eight expatriates of various nationalities.
The statement detailed the nationalities of the deceased as follows: two Bangladeshi residents, one American national, one Egyptian national (identified as a flight attendant), one Jordanian national, one Syrian national, one Palestinian national, and one Sudanese national.
The attack also resulted in injuries to 309 others, the statement said, confirming that the injured are receiving necessary medical care at various hospitals, with some cases described as critical.
The Saudi General Authority of Civil Aviation noted that competent authorities are continuing to monitor the condition of the injured and provide them with medical care.
It stated that the attack caused material damage, the extent of which is currently being assessed.
