Meanwhile, Alexandria has been experiencing a drop in temperature and heavy rain for the third day in a row, though it has not affected traffic and marine navigation.
For her part, Acting Governor Soad al-Khouly said the city and army have been regularly removing water from the streets so as not to disrupt traffic.
In Qena, executive bodies declared a state of emergency to cope with the rain. It has also provided hospitals and health care centers with additional quantities of antidotes to counteract a potential increase in scorpion and snake bites that may result from additional water sweeping through the city.
