Wheel malfunction causes emergency landing of Paris EgyptAir flight in Cairo

Cairo International Airport imposed a state of emergency Tuesday morning, due to an emergency landing of an ‘EgyptAir’ flight coming from France. The incident was caused by a malfunction in the airplane wheels, state-run newspaper of Akhabr Al Youm reported.

According to Akhabr Al Youm, the wheels caught the airplane when it was ready to land at Cairo International Airport, and the pilot notified the airport authorities of his forced landing.

Flight no 802 is owned by the Egyptian state-run Aviation Company of ‘Egypt Air’, directly following the emergency landing, numerous ambulances and police vehicles surrounded the runway.

Later, the pilot managed to successfully land on the runway, where airport authorities initiated evacuation operations of the passengers and began maintenance on the aircraft.
