Winter closing times for shops and restaurants across Egypt will be applied on October 26, the last Thursday of the month, the Ministry of Local Development announced.
The Cairo 24 website quoted the Assistant Minister of Local Development Khaled Qassem as saying that shops and commercial malls will be open daily from seven am to 10 pm during winter.
During the weekends and holidays, opening hours will be extended to 11 pm.
Workshops and craft shops located within residential areas will be open daily from eight am to six pm. These working hours do not apply to workshops located on public roads and gas stations.
Qassem added that during the summer, restaurants, cafes and bazaars – including those in commercial malls – are open daily from five am until 12 pm.
On weekends and holidays opening hours are extended to 12 am, while food delivery services are available 24/7.
