World largest container ship pays LE6 million to cross Suez Canal

The giant Panamanian container ship MSC Oscar, which is the largest container ship in the world, paid US$895,000 in fees to cross the waterway of the Suez Canal, approximately equal to LE6 million.
 
An official source at the Suez Canal Authority told the Middle East News Agency that Oscar is the largest container ship in the world with a tonnage amounting to 193,000. He added the ship can carry 19,000 and 244 containers on board.
 
The source mentioned that the authority used two giant tugboats to pull the ship across the Suez Canal over nearly 12 hours.
