Zawya Cinema to screen seven Wes Anderson films

Zawya Cinema revealed a new program from September 8 to October 7 featuring seven films from US director/actor Wes Anderson.

All films are scheduled to be shown at 7 pm, with reservations starting on Wednesday.

The first of these films is “The Royal Tenenbaums” (2001) scheduled to be shown on the program’s launch day, September 8, and re-screened on September 28.

Taking place in New York, this comedy film about a quirky family stars Luke Wilson, Gene Hackman, Owen Wilson, Alec Baldwin, Anjelica Huston, Danny Glover, and Wes Anderson.

The second film, Rushmore,” (1998) is scheduled to be screened on September 9, and will be re-screened on September 23.

The film follows an eccentric teenager named Max Fisher and his friendship with the wealthy industrialist Hermann Blume and their shared love for primary school teacher Rosemary Cross.

It stars Jason Schwartzman as Max Fisher, Bill Murray as Hermann Blume, and Olivia Williams as Rosemary Cross.

The third film is “The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou” (2004) set to be shown on September 14, with a re-screening on September 29.

The film stars Bill Murray, Owen Wilson, Willem Dafoe, Anjelica Huston, and Cate Blanchett.

The fourth film, “The Darjeeling Limited” (2007) is scheduled to be screened on September 15, and will be re-screened on September 30.

It stars Jason Schwartzman, Adrien Brody, Owen Wilson, Amara Karan, Bill Murray, Anjelica Huston, Natalie Portman, and Irrfan Khan.

The fifth film, “Fantastic Mr. Fox” (2009) is scheduled to be screened on September 16, and re-screened on October 5.

This American stop-motion animated film stars George Clooney, Meryl Streep, Jason Schwartzman, Bill Murray, Willem Dafoe, and Owen Wilson.

The sixth film is “The Grand Budapest Hotel” (2014) scheduled for screening on September 21, and re-screened on October 6.

It stars Ralph Fiennes and F. Murray Abraham, Edward Norton, Saoirse Ronan, Adrien Brody.

It tells the story of Mr. Gustav, who, with the help of his friend Zero Mustafa, tries to exonerate himself from a crime he did not commit.

The plot was inspired by the work of Austrian writer Stefan Zweig.

And the final film on the program is “The French Dispatch” (2021) scheduled for screening on September 22, and re-screened on October 7.

It stars Benicio del Toro, Adrien Brody, Tilda Swinton, Léa Seydoux, Frances McDormand, Timothée Chalamet, Lina Khoudry, Steve Park, Bill Murray, and Owen Wilson.
