Egypt summons Pakistani diplomat over Pakistan’s rejection of Morsi death sentence

The Egyptian Foreign Ministry summoned the Pakistani charge d'affaires in Cairo to inform him of Egypt's full rejection of a statement issued by the Pakistani Foreign Ministry against sentencing toppled President Mohamed Morsi and a number of Muslim Brotherhood leaders to death in the cases known in media as Wadi al-Natroun prison and espionage cases.

The Foreign Ministry added in a statement Tuesday that Pakistan's statement is an unacceptable interference in the internal affairs of Egypt, pointing out that this interference could affect the bilateral relations between the two countries.

"The Egyptian Embassy in Islamabad transferred the same message to the Pakistani side," the statement added.
