Electricity Control: No power cuts last week because people rationalized consumption

The National Electricity Control Center said on Wednesday that there were no power cuts last week because people collaborated by rationalizing consumption.

Also, Electricity Minister Mohamed Shaker said fuel supply for power stations was at normal levels.

He said the four gas-fueled units of the Banha and Giza power stations will be fully operational in the second half of June with a capacity of 750 MW to be increased to 1,000 MW with the operation of two more units, in addition to the 650 MW of the Ain Sukhna power station.

Ministry spokesperson Mohamed al-Yamany urged citizens to continue rationalizing consumption and advised to set air conditioners at 25 degrees Celsius.
