Mansoura Misdemeanor Court sentenced on Wednesday six students affiliated with the Muslim Brotherhood to five years in prison and fined them LE50,000 over protesting illegally.
The defendants were arrested in Mansoura during a protest by supporters of former President Mohamed Morsy in March.
During the event, clashes erupted, causing damage to stores and some vehicles.
