Soldiers survive militant attack in North Sinai

Clashes broke out on Monday between security personnel and gunmen who were targeting a soldiers bus, east of Arish city, sources from North Sinai security services said.

Six gunmen fired shots toward the bus carrying the soldiers by al-Sakaseka village on the international coastal road, the sources told Al-Masry Al-Youm. Security elements exchanged fire with the gunmen, which caused to them to flee south of Arish.

No casualties were reported, according to the sources. However, a microbus driver who was passing during the clashes was injured. He was transferred to Arish Public Hospital.
