UPDATE2: Judge, 2 police officers, 1 civilian die in bomb explosion at hotel in Arish

Two bombs exploded outside a hotel in Egypt housing election judges on Tuesday, killing one judge, two police officers and one civilian, according to the Health Ministry.

Al-Masry Al-Youm quoted medical sources at the Health Ministry in North Sinai saying that Judge Omar Hammad died, in addition to two policemen and one civilian. At least 17 others have been wounded, including two judges.

The blasts in the city of al-Arish came a day after the second round of a parliamentary election closed.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility.

Islamic State's Egypt affiliate, Sinai Province, has carried out similar attacks in the region as part of its bid to topple the Cairo government.

State television and security sources first said a car bomb exploded then a second blast hit the area about 10 minutes later.

Ambulances rushed to the scene, which was sealed off by soldiers and police, said the security sources.
