Egypt’s Air Force foiled an attempt to penetrate the country’s western border and destroyed 10 four-wheel vehicles loaded with weapons, ammunition and contraband materials, a statement by the Egyptian military read on Saturday.
The statement went on to say that the Air Force destroyed the vehicles and ‘eliminated’ those inside.
The operation was a co-ordinated effort carried out by the Air Force, Border Guards, and Military Intelligence.
Efforts continue to work to secure the state’s borders from all directions, as well as countering terrorist attacks, the statement said.
