The Ministry of Social Solidarity has decided to increase the quotas of subsidized flour and gas cylinders to high-consumption areas during Ramadan. High-consumption areas will be determined according to reports from food supply departments in governorates across Egypt, an official source told Al-Masry Al-Youm.

The ministry has also devised plans to cope with a shortage of bread and gas cylinders during Ramadan.

Monitoring committees will visit gas cylinder storehouses, bakeries, and supermarkets as part of a campaign to control markets.

The campaign aims to monitor the prices and supply of subsidized commodities and organize Ramadan markets, where unsubsidized basic commodities are sold at low prices.
