Mohamed Abdel Salam, adviser to the Al-Azhar grand sheikh and a member of the Constituent Assembly, said representatives of Egyptian churches and others who withdrew from the assembly would meet in few days with civilian and Islamist political forces to agree on the constitution draft.

Abdel Salam said the meeting seeks to achieve consensus on controversial articles, pointing out that Al-Azhar contacted all the forces represented in the assembly for the meeting.

Abdel Salam denied media reports that the meeting was scheduled for Tuesday. Deputy head of the Salafi Dawah Yasser Borhamy had said that a meeting was scheduled Tuesday between assembly members of different political affiliations to agree on the constitution.
