Arish policemen demand better weaponry, protection

Dozens of policemen from Arish's police force staged a protests in front of the first police station in the city's Dahya Square to protest against a lack of security in North Sinai.
 
Demonstrators closed the police station's gates, threatening to stop work until their demands are met. Protesters have called their demonstration an open-ended sit-in.
 
Police officers say they want more modern weaponry and better security around their accomodation. They also demanded some changes within the police leadership and the speedy arrest of suspects allegedly involved in the killing of policemen in the local area.
