Prosecutors in the Cairo neighborhood of Waily have ordered an autopsy for the body of Wadea Wahby Girgis, a nuclear scientist and former Cairo University professor who was found dead near a railroad in the neighborhood Monday.

Forensic analysts examined the body and found that it was fully dressed and bearing bruises that had resulted from a severe crash.

Girgis’ daughter, Mona, told investigators the victim left home at 11 am Friday but never came back. Investigators were told the man was peaceful and did not have issues with anyone.

They ruled out any criminal act behind his death and said he probably was hit by a train while trying to cross the railroad.

The investigators said residents found the scientist’s body four days after the accident.
