Forty Sudanese nationals were injured Wednesday night in a bus accident in front of Sidi Suleiman Square on the road to Abu Simbel temples in Aswan.

The bus, which was transporting a group of Sudanese to Abu Simbel port, overturned. The passengers were taken to Aswan al-Ta'limi hospital and al-Ta'min al-Sehi hospital.

The Sudanese consul, Bashir Belal Qassam Allah, visited the injured Sudanese to make sure they were in good health.

The bus has been removed from the road and traffic has resumed, said Major Ahmed Abdel Latif, head of the traffic department in Aswan. He added that the accident likely occurred because the driver lost control of the steering wheel.
