Cabinet think tank denies shortage in insulin drug

The Information and Decision Support Center (IDSC) of the Cabinet completely denied on Friday any shortages in insulin supplies in pharmacies and hospitals.

The IDSC contacted the Health Ministry regarding circulating rumors on insulin shortages. The ministry denied the rumor and stressed the availability of the drug in pharmacies and hospitals, adding that the ministry has a strategic reserve of the drug, the statement mentioned.

Health Ministry inspectors conduct inspection campaigns on a regular basis at pharmacies, drug stores, as well as branches of the Egyptian Pharmaceutical Trading Company, to ensure the availability of insulin, according to the statement.
