Campaign for female recruitment in army garners 19,000 signatures

The Egyptian Female Soldier campaign has announced that it has collected 19,000 signatures that endorse the call for female recruitment with the Armed Forces.
 
The campaign said director of the Recruitment and Mobilization Department of the Armed Forces, Major General Mohey Eddin Abdel Alim promised to amend regulations so as to accept the recruitment of females as a support for combat forces.
 
Campaign spokesperson Gehad al-Komy announced that the number of people who have joined the movement has grown significantly, pointing out that Tamarod leader Mahmoud Badr vowed to support the campaign, while his sister joined the campaign.
 
Komy added that she met with Prime Minister Ibrahim Mehleb after President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi welcomed the campaign's concept.
