Ceramica Cleopatra owner banned from travel

Public Prosecutor Abdel Meguid Mahmoud placed a travel ban on Ceramica Cleopatra owner Mohamed Abul Enein on Thursday due to ongoing investigations into his management practices.
Abul Enein is being investigated on charges of not paying Ceramica Cleopatra workers, preventing them from doing their jobs, threatening them with dismissal and illegally firing them from factories in Ain Sokhna and 10th of Ramadan.
Prosecution spokesperson Adel al-Saeed said Abul Enein will be summoned within a few hours for questioning.
Several Ceramica Cleopatra workers had filed reports with the public prosecution accusing Abul Enein of breaching agreements he reached with the workers’ union to pay overdue salaries.
Ceramica Cleopatra workers have staged several protests over past days. On Thursday they protested before the High Court in downtown Cairo, completely stopping traffic. Earlier in the week they had been protesting in front of the presidential palace in Heliopolis.
