Passengers blocked the railway tracks in Qalyub on Monday in protest against a delay in their journey when their train, which was headed from Cairo to Menouf, broke down in the station.

The passengers descended from the train and walked to the Cairo-Alexandria railway tracks, blocking both directions of train traffic for an hour and a half as they threw stones at the Qalyub station.

A tractor then came to pull the Menouf train out of the station.
