The civilian death toll in the violence at Maspero on 9 October has mounted to 27, as Magdy Fahim Mosaad died Sunday at Salaam International Hospital in Cairo.

One military soldier reportedly died as well.

Sources at the hospital said the victim suffered a cerebral hemorrhage and other injuries after an armored personnel carrier ran over him during the incident.

The sources said the hospital will release a medical report about Mosaad's death and issue permission for him to be buried.

Several demonstrators were run over outside Egypt's state TV building, Maspero, by army vehicles during largely Coptic protests denouncing recent attacks on churches.
