Newly elected President Mohamed Morsy met on Monday with Egypt’s governors, the prime minister and the local development minister on water, wastewater, education, health, road, transportation and garbage issues.

Acting presidential spokesperson Yasser Ali said the meeting comes within a series of meetings that the president is holding with government officials.

The officials reviewed the problems of restoring security, providing the main food supply and resolving the fuel shortage in governorates.

Ali said that governors would remain in their positions until new ones are appointed.
