Prosecutor general asks Interpol to arrest Brotherhood Deputy Guide Mahmoud Ezzat

Prosecutor General Hisham Barakat on Monday asked the Egyptian Interpol to arrest Mahmoud Ezzat, the deputy supreme guide of the Muslim Brotherhood, on charges of inciting murder and violence.

The charges pertain to even that occurred outside the Republican Guard building and the Brotherhood’s headquarters, and during the storming of the sit-ins of the supporters of deposed President Mohamed Morsy in Rabaa al-Adaweya and al-Nahda squares on 14 August.

The Zagazig University board had decided to dismiss Ezzat and Mohamed al-Gawady, both professors at the Faculty of Medicine, for having been absent since 26 June without excuse or request for leave.

Fellow professors have been asking the university to take action against Ezzat and Gawady.
