Protesters in Mahalla call for civil disobedience

Revolutionary forces in Mahalla staged protests in Shoan Square after Friday prayers, calling on President Mohamed Morsy to step down.

Dozens gathered in the square, playing national songs over loudspeakers. They raised a large Egyptian flag, and burned the flag of the Muslim Brotherhood.

They chanted anti-Brotherhood slogans, including, "Liars, butchers, they killed our brothers under the name of religion," "Lying Brothers whose place is prison," and "Under the name of religion, they killed our brothers in squares; they are neither brothers, nor Muslims."

The protesters called for civil disobedience against Morsy’s administration, and told citizens not to pay their electricity, water and gas bills.
