Sit-in at Defense Ministry calling for Morsy’s departure

Dozens of anti-Morsy protesters, including members of the Alliance of Revolutionary Youth, announced that a sit-in in front of the Defense Ministry building would begin Saturday morning.

The announcement came at the end of a protest held Friday in front of the Ministry in which protesters demanded that President Morsy step down. Protesters erected 15 new tents bearing the Egyptian flag.

Protesters said they will continue their sit-in until 30 June.  They are calling on Defense Minister Abdel Fattah al-Sisi to give Mohamed Morsy and his government 48 hours to step down and to form a presidential council consisting of the head of the Supreme Constitutional Court as president and Sisi as vice president.
