14 people injured in large-scale fire, Aswan

A giant fire broke out Wednesday morning across dozens of shops and four residential buildings in downtown Edfu, north of Aswan, injuring 14 people, according to medical sources.
A number of shops and houses were damaged as a result.
The Governor of Aswan Major General, Mady Hegazy, and security leaders arrived on the scene of the incident, where helicopters and over 20 civil protection vehicles were used to extinguish the fire. The armed forces also aided in extinguishing the fire, according to MENA.
Hegazy formed a task force to manage the incident.
No deaths have been recorded so far and damages and losses are still being estimated, Director of Aswan Civil Protection Department, Ashraf Atris, said.
Head of Aswan Security Directorate Major General Magdy Moussa ordered an investigation team to find out the reason behind the fire.
