150 highly-equipped ambulance units deployed at Rafah: Health min.

Minister of Health and Population Khaled Abdel Ghaffar said over 150 highly-equipped ambulance units were deployed at Rafah Border Crossing to provide needed medical service to evacuees from the embattled Gaza Strip.

Abdel Ghaffar made the remarks while receiving a France-operated floating hospital ship at the Port of El Arish, along with Governor of North Sinai Abdel Fadil Shosha, and Palestinian Health Minister Mai al-Kaila, in the presence of a high-level French delegation.

The Mistral-class Dixmude ship is equipped with two operation rooms, 40 beds, 15 intermediate care beds, 25 inpatient beds, and five pediatric care beds, with 20 French doctors onboard, the governor said.

He added that some Palestinians will be carried to the French Hospital for treatment in coordination between the French delegation and the Egyptian and Palestinian health ministries.

Earlier, Shosha had a meeting with a French delegation to discuss the port’s preparations to receive the ship.
