Tourism Minister Hisham Zaazou has grounded 17 tourist buses for three months because their drivers are not registered at the ministry.
He also blacklisted three drivers for taking drugs while driving and for deliberately disconnecting the speed limit device.
A sudden inspection campaign in Alexandria found that 21 buses were in good condition and two had minor technical problems.
Inspection campaigns are conducted randomly in various cities to make sure tourist vehicles are in good condition so as to reduce road accidents.
