18 people injured in clashes between Morsy supporters, residents in Ismailia

Eighteen people were injured with birdshot on Monday when clashes erupted between supporters of ousted President Mohamed Morsy and residents in front of the Security Department, a medical source from the Ismailia Ambulance Center said.

A march staged by the Muslim Brotherhood headed from Saleheen Mosque on to Ismailia Security Department and the marchers clashed with the residents and hurled stones at each other in Mamar Square.

Meanwhile, hundreds of young men gathered in front of the Security Department and in front of the police station in the Sultan Hussein area to protect them from any possible assaults by Morsy’s supporters.
