The Ministry of Health and Population said on Monday that the first patient with Coronavirus has recovered from the virus after spending two weeks in the Abbasiya Fever Hospital.
The patient was treated of pneumonia, his chest x-ray was good, his liver and kidney functions had improved, and his blood tests showed no signs of infection.
The ministry expressed its certainty that the patient has been successfully treated as the central labs tested for the virus and came back with three negative samples, adding that the doctors treating him were not infected, thanks to the precautionary measures taken by the hospital.
Ahmed Saeed, the patient, was grateful to the hospital and doctors who treated him. “My confidence in God saved me,” he said while leaving the hospital.
He said the minister himself told him of the results of the examination. “I will go back to my work in Saudi Arabia.” he added. “The spread of the virus there will not stop me.”
