Damietta lawyers suspend work over lawyer’s assault in police station

The sub-council of the Lawyers' Syndicate in Damietta has partially suspended work at the Fareskour District Court until investigations into an assault by a sheriff on a lawyer are concluded. The lawyer suffered injuries to his face.

The deputy head of the syndicate in Damietta, Diaa Eddin Dawoud, said the decision to suspend work was in protest against lawyer Emad Fahmy's assault inside the Fareskour police station.

A claim was filed on the incident and the prosecution has taken over investigation, Dawoud added.
