PM calls for accelerated completion of roads in Ras al-Hekma, Shams al-Hekma

Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly instructed officials to speed up work on roads and utilities in Shams al-Hekma and Ras al-Hekma, stressing the need to increase labor and equipment to meet timelines and support residents with proper services.

During a visit to projects in Egypt’s northwestern coast, Madbouli held a meeting at the Ras El Hekma City Authority, where he reviewed updates on the Ras al-Hekma and Shams El Hekma projects.

The meeting was attended by Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities Sherif El Sherbini, Matrouh Governor Khaled Shuaib, and other officials.

During the talks, El Sherbiny said that the New Urban Communities Authority is carrying out infrastructure works for alternative land in Shams El Hekma and the zones south of the high-speed rail project. These include housing, services, commercial zones, and main road networks.

The minister reported 100% completion of utility works in the urgent areas of Shams El Hekma, including water, sewage, fire systems, and stormwater drainage.

He added that the first phase of a wastewater plant over 3,800 feddans is also complete. A 28-class school under construction is now 80% complete and expected to open next school year.

Infrastructure contracts were awarded to top contractors for three tribal areas: 250 feddans for the Sanakra, 350 for the Zaeirat, and 185 for the Gomaiyat.
