Borg El Arab International Airport Renamed “Alexandria International Airport”

The Alexandria Governorate, in coordination with the Ministry of Civil Aviation, announced that the official name of the Borg El Arab International Airport has been changed to the Alexandria International Airport.

The change will take effect on Wednesday, September 4, as part of efforts to modernize Egypt’s airport infrastructure and enhance the regional identity of the Alexandria Governorate.

According to a statement from the governorate, the change includes updating the airport’s official code with the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) from HEBA to HEAX.

This update is part of a strategic plan to develop civil aviation services, reflecting Alexandria’s historical and touristic status as a major hub on the international travel map.
