
President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi congratulated the Egyptian national football team on their successful qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup finals.
The President shared his message on his official X account (formerly Twitter): “I extend my sincerest congratulations to the heroes of our national football team on their well-deserved qualification for the 2026 World Cup in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.”
Sisi continued, praising the team’s dedication: “You have brought joy to the hearts of all Egyptians who followed your journey with pride and honor. You proved that determination and resolve are the path to achievement. This qualification is the fruit of the sincere effort and devotion of the players, technical staff, and administrative team, and it deserves all respect and appreciation.”
He urged the team to maintain their high standards: “I call upon you to continue your hard work and exert maximum effort during the World Cup competition to deliver a performance worthy of Egypt’s stature and football history, reflecting an honorable image of Egyptian sports to the world. I pray that God guides you in your coming journey, and that you always remain a source of pride and happiness for Egypt and its people. Long Live Egypt.”
In a related statement, Hany Abou Rida, President of the Egyptian Football Association (EFA), also offered his congratulations to the players, the coaching staff, and the Egyptian football fans.
Abou Rida stated that this major achievement was deserved and was made possible through the collaboration of all relevant parties under the leadership of President Sisi, whom he credited as the number one supporter of Egyptian sports.
