Egypt received 15.6 million tourists between January-October 2025

The Treasurer of the Egyptian Tourism Federation Ehab Abdel-Aal announced that Egypt welcomed 15.6 million tourists between January and October 2025, representing a 21 percent growth rate.

This reflects the attractiveness of Egypt as a tourist destination and its ability to meet the increasing demand from European markets, he noted.

Abdel-Aal’s remarks came on the sidelines of Hurghada hosting the annual conference of the German travel agents association “RTK International”.

He stated that the event sends a strong message reflecting the German market’s confidence in Egypt and underscores Egypt’s growing prominence on the global tourism map.

Abdel-Aal added that Germany is one of the most important markets for tourism to Egypt, characterized by its stability and sophistication, he said.

German tourists have specific priorities, he added, including quality, punctuality, accurate information, and a diverse tourism experience, in addition to their strong interest in cultural tourism, the Red Sea, and environmental and sports activities.

Increasing tourism from Germany

He said that this the RTK international event includes more than 450 travel agents from major German companies, and enhances opportunities for joint cooperation and supports efforts to increase tourist flows from Germany.

Abdel-Aal pointed out that holding the conference in Hurghada reflects the great success achieved by the Egyptian tourism sector this year.

Participants directly witnessed the significant developments in the Red Sea’s tourism and service infrastructure, he said, in addition to the diversity of Egypt’s tourism offerings – ranging from culture to ecotourism, beach, and adventure tourism.

The efforts exerted by the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities provide a strong framework for enhancing cooperation with German partners, he emphasized, whether through aviation incentive programs, expanding hotel capacity, and supporting sustainable tourism initiatives.

Abdel-Aal added that focusing on promising areas, such as Berenice south of Marsa Alam, will create a leap forward in diversifying tourism, especially with the presence of a fully operational airport and major ongoing projects that enhance the region’s appeal to investors and visitors.

Travel delegation arrives

The Egyptian Tourism Authority hosted a delegation of German travel agents and media representatives for a familiarization visit to Sharm El-Sheikh, in cooperation with the German tour operator TUI.

This comes as part of the ministry’s efforts to boost inbound tourism from the German market and enhance Egypt’s presence on the global tourism map.

The delegation included the CEO of TUI, Benjamin Jacobi, 17 travel agents from leading German travel companies and agencies, and eight representatives from prominent German newspapers and magazines.
