Airlines around the world cancel flights after Airbus recalls 6,000 aircraft, EgyptAir cooperates

Several airlines around the world announced the postponement or cancellation of flights on Saturday following a warning from Airbus about needing to control system software for approximately 6,000 A320 aircraft.

EgyptAir immediately formed a specialized maintenance and technical team and the Integrated Operations Center (IOCC) at EgyptAir Airlines to closely monitor updates from Airbus, take immediate precautionary measures, and assess any potential impact on flight schedules.

Direct coordination took place between the EgyptAir maintenance and engineering team and Airbus.

The impacted aircraft of this model were identified, inspected, and the necessary software updates were implemented within a record time and without any disruption to flight schedules.

EgyptAir assured that aviation safety is one of her absolute priorities and that she is committed to applying the highest safety and quality standards at all stages of operation.

ANA Holdings, Japan’s largest airline, canceled 65 flights following Airbus’s decision due to a faulty control system, which grounded some of the planes.
