CAIRO, Dec 5 (MENA) – Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty made a phone call with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, praising Egypt’s strategic partnership that governs cooperation with Russia across all sectors.
Both sides lauded the increasing momentum, especially in economic and commercial fields, and emphasized the need for advancing major joint projects, like El Dabaa Nuclear Power Plant.
On the Gaza Strip, Abdelatty underscored the need to implement UN Security Council Resolution 2803, proceed with the second phase of the US peace plan, and enable the International Stabilization Force to secure the ceasefire.
The ministers reviewed a number of regional issues, highlighting Egypt’s efforts on Sudan, support for the unity and stability of Lebanon and Syria, and the need for de-escalation and dialogue regarding the Iran nuclear file.
On the Ukraine crisis, he said Egypt reiterates its stance on calling for efforts to reach peaceful settlements through dialogue. (MENA)
