Rainfall in Sinai on Monday to reach flash floods level, EMA warns

The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) forecasts cold weather in the early morning, mild weather during the day, and cold weather at night across most of the country on Monday.

Temperatures are expected to drop significantly during the late night hours.

Weather maps warn of morning fog on some roads leading to and from northern Egypt, including Greater Cairo, northern Upper Egypt, and central Sinai.

Fog may occasionally be dense on various roads.

Moderate to heavy rainfall is expected in some areas along the northeastern coast and in northern and central Sinai, potentially leading to flash floods on some roads.

There will also be a chance of light to moderate rainfall in parts of the northwestern coast, Lower Egypt, the Red Sea Governorate, and the Suez Canal cities, extending lightly to parts of Greater Cairo and northern Upper Egypt.

Weather maps predict active winds across most of the country, stirring up sand and dust in parts of southern Egypt.

  • Red Sea conditions: Moderate to rough with waves between two to three meters, with northwestern winds.
