CAIRO, Dec 14 (MENA) – Egypt has strongly condemned the heinous drone attack that targeted the United Nations peacekeeping logistics base in Kadugli of South Kordofan state in Sudan on Saturday, killing six Bangladeshi peacekeepers and injuring eight others.
In a statement released by the Foreign Ministry on Sunday, Egypt denounced such attacks that constitute a blatant violation of the principles of international law, extending its sincere condolences to the victims’ families, as well as to the government and people of Bangladesh.
Egypt also renewed its call for an immediate ceasefire to enable a serious humanitarian response by all members of the international community, facilitate greater access for humanitarian aid, provide safe havens for displaced people fleeing the horrors of war, and pave the way for a comprehensive political solution led by the Sudanese people, the statement concluded.
