
CAIRO, Feb 12 (MENA) – Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptian Expatriates said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs due to expansion of mandates and incorporation of the international cooperation portfolio into its responsibilities has come to assume a more integrated role in formulating and implementing foreign policy in its political, economic and developmental dimensions.
During a meeting – the foreign minister held late Wednesday – with ministry leaders and assistant ministers from the various sectors and departments, as part of periodic follow-up on workflow and efforts to enhance institutional performance efficiency, the foreign minister reiterated that the current phase would require the highest levels of preparedness, discipline and coordination.
In this context, Abdelatty underscored the importance of intensifying efforts in the coming period and strengthening full coordination among the ministry’s various sectors to ensure institutional harmony and maximize the political and economic returns of the State’s external engagement.
He also reviewed the most prominent current regional challenges and their repercussions on national interests, emphasizing the need for proactive action and the use of multi-track diplomacy tools to defend Egyptian interests and safeguard national security.
The minister pointed out to the growing importance of economic diplomacy, calling for strengthening the role of Egyptian missions abroad in attracting investments, increasing exports and opening new markets for Egyptian products, alongside reinforcing cooperation with relevant national ministries and entities to ensure integrated efforts.
