
CAIRO, March 12 (MENA) – Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty, during a phone call with Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan, reaffirmed Egypt’s steadfast position in strongly supporting the Kingdom and all sisterly Arab countries.
The phone call took place within the framework of close consultation and coordination between the two countries regarding the rapidly evolving regional developments and the ongoing military escalation in the region.
The two ministers exchanged views on current developments, with Minister Abdelatty emphasizing Egypt’s full solidarity in facing any challenges affecting the Kingdom’s security.
He reiterated Egypt’s full condemnation of the attacks targeting the security and sovereignty of friendly and sister states, stressing that there is no justification for such attacks.
He emphasized the importance of full respect for the principles of good neighborliness and state sovereignty.
The call also addressed efforts to evacuate Egyptian citizens, with Minister Abdelatty expressing Egypt’s deep appreciation for the support and facilitation provided by the Saudi authorities to ensure the success of the evacuation efforts under the current circumstances.
The two ministers discussed efforts to contain the escalating situation, with the Foreign Minister warning of the catastrophic and serious consequences of continued violence and the widening scope of the conflict, which threaten regional and international peace and security and place the safety of the entire region at significant risk.
At the conclusion of the call, both sides agreed on the necessity of coordinating regional and international efforts to de-escalate tensions, prioritize political solutions, and rely on dialogue and diplomacy as the only means to prevent the region from sliding into wider confrontations and total chaos.
