Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty said Egypt will continue its efforts until attacks on brotherly nations stop and the war ends.
Speaking during a Ramadan Iftar banquet he hosted on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, in the presence of a group of senior journalists, media professionals, diplomats, and professors of political science, Abdelatty warned that the cost of war increases with every passing day, and no one can bear this situation for a long period.
Abdelatty briefed attendees on Egypt’s position since the outbreak of the ongoing regional crisis. He reaffirmed Egypt’s unwavering stance in support of the security and stability of Arab Gulf states as an integral part of Egypt’s national security.
Abdelatty commended the diplomatic correspondents accredited to the ministry for their accurate and credible news coverage, describing their role as an integral part of the ministry’s work.
As regards regional developments, the minister warned that the region is on the brink of explosion, emphasizing that Egypt is a critical linchpin of stability in the region.
He said Egypt had been acting in good faith to avoid this bad scenario.
President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi believed that, if a conflict breaks out, it would spill over to other areas in a region already overwhelmed by highly complex crises, Abdelatty noted.
