Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty held a phone call on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, with his Kuwaiti counterpart Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, within the framework of ongoing coordination and consultation between the two countries on rapid regional developments.
The talks addressed efforts to de-escalate the serious situation in the region, with Abdelatty stressing the need to prioritize diplomatic solutions and intensify efforts to contain tensions, warning of the catastrophic repercussions of continued violence and the risk of the region sliding into widespread instability threatening international peace and security.
The Egyptian minister reaffirmed Egypt’s firm condemnation of any attacks targeting Kuwait and other Gulf states, underscoring Cairo’s full solidarity with its partners in confronting any threats to their security and stability, noting that Gulf security is an integral part of Egypt’s national security.
For his part, the Kuwaiti minister expressed appreciation for Egypt’s position.
Abdelatty also voiced appreciation for the swift response by Kuwaiti authorities to a request from the Egyptian Embassy in Kuwait to refer a memorandum concerning an article by an individual to the Kuwaiti Public Prosecutor, citing unacceptable violations and offensive content.
He said the legal action reflects the depth and strength of the longstanding ties between the two countries and counters any attempts to undermine their historic relations and shared destiny.
