US President Donald Trump has announced a 10-day suspension of strikes against Iranian energy facilities, stating that the decision follows a request from the Iranian government while negotiations remain ongoing.
In a post on his ‘Truth Social’ platform, Trump clarified that the pause on targeting energy infrastructure will remain in effect until Monday, April 6, 2026, at 8:00 PM Eastern Time (ET).
“Talks are continuing, and despite the false statements promoted by the Fake News Media and others, they are going very well,” he added. The President also stated on Thursday that military operations in Iran are ‘way ahead’ of schedule, predicting that the war will end “soon.”
Speaking during a White House meeting, Trump noted: “We had identified that completing our mission would take between four to six weeks. After 26 days, we are way ahead—much further along than the original timeline.”
He characterized the joint offensive with Israel, which launched on February 28, as a ‘short turning point’ that will conclude in the near future.
